Shimla: Chief minister Virbhadra Singh while speaking on the occasion of closing ceremony of the district level Seepur fair near Mashobra in Kasumpati constituency stressed the need for preserving the rich traditional customs and culture.He said that the lives of the people of the state revolve around the local deities and they had supreme faith in them.
“Seepur fair also found mention in various books of foreign authors and the ambience of the place had been highly appreciated by them,” he said adding that the state was known for maintaining its ancient culture and it should be further preserved at all cost for the future generations.
Chief Minister announced to upgrade Primary Health centre, Mashobra and veterinary dispensary at Kanola and metalling of road from Seepur to Mashobra. He assured to include the road from Craignano to Gumma via Darbala under NABARD.
He also announced 10 lakh for Sarai bhawan at Mashobra and Rs 10 lakh for grading and packaging house at Mashobra. Virbhadra Singh announced rupees five thousand each for school children who presented cultural programme on the occasion and Rs 10,000 to artist Daleep Sirmauri and the traditional Thoda dance group.
Chief minister also distributed the prizes to winners of various competitions and sports events held on the occasion. He also released a souvenir and visited the exhibitions set up by the various departments. Later, Virbhadra Singh Minister dedicated the Himachal Pradesh Gramin Bank branch at Sandhu near Theog.
