Himachal Pradesh wins Better Performing Project Award-2015

New Delhi: A Spokesperson of the State Government informed here on Monday that Himachal Pradesh has received “2015- Better Performing Project Award” recently at New Delhi. He said that the award was given for development of infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh implemented by the Department of Tourism, H.P under the ADB Funded Project. He said that the award was given during the Tripartite Portfolio Review meeting.

He said that on behalf of the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, the award was received by Mohan Chauhan, Commissioner, Tourism and Manoj Sharma Project Director at New Delhi from Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs Ministry of Finance, GoI and Deputy Director General ADB.

He said that the award was based on the overall performance in contract award, disbursement, execution, monitoring and quality maintenance etc. by the implementing agency. The Department of Tourism was executing 580 crore tourism infrastructure project in the State under which various sub projects were under execution at almost all the important tourist destinations in the State, he added.

The Spokesperson said that the project will go a long way in improving the overall tourist facilities within the State and attract larger number of tourists to Himachal Pradesh.
